Antique ruby and pearl rings were very popular as engagement rings during the Victorian, the Edwardian and the Art Deco periods. Usually the rubies were accented by small seed pearls, sometimes to create very elaborate designs using lots of pearls and other times just a single or double pearl. Antique Ruby and Seed Pearl Ring Circa 1880-1900
One of the pieces that really stands out in the Malleries collection is an antique ruby and pearl ring that is set in 11k rose gold. It is dated between 1880-1900, and so is a gracious Victorian style with the classic ruby and seed pearls common of that era. The marquis cut ruby is small, just .15, but it’s accented with 16 seed pearls that embellishes the entire diamond-like shape of the shank. It’s recommended as an engagement ring or anniversary ring. It is a size 7 but can be resized to fit a larger or smaller finger. It is very affordable at just under $400.
Retro 1940’s Genuine Ruby Rings With Pearls
